Honest Internet Marketing Reviews – How To Handle A Pre-Launch And Launch

July 2nd, 2010 admin 1 comment

Hey guys, just got a great comment from Troy over at Profit Time Make Money Training and I thought I’d share both his comment and my somewhat lengthy response.  Troy writes:

Chris,

Glad I stumbled onto your site. You are only 1 of 3 that I have ever found that has a real review site.

I would like to see your handy work for a pre launch to see how you go about a review with no working knowledge or experience for a new product. I’ve always struggled at what to say at that stage. I refuse to put up the rhetoric ‘what I think the product/service is and can do for you even though I’ve never tried it ‘ crap that’s far too common. So, I end up getting eaten alive by other guys whose scruples are nil and the mindless buyers they get rich off of.

I’m all for the sell and money, but don’t want to be talking out the side of my mouth doing it.

What other current sites or articles do you have I can look at?

Anyway, Great Job. Look forward to reading more.

Troy

My response is as follows:

If I were doing a pre-launch, I’d go about it 1 of 2 ways, dependent on the merchant.  I’d start by emailing the merchant and sending them the link to my blog, letting them know that I conduct honest reviews of quality products, and I’d ask them if they could either entrust me with a review copy or, failing that, allow me to purchase advanced access so that I can have a proper review ready in time for the launch.

If their answer was yes, I’d review it the same way as I would any other product; namely, by using it and seeing if it’s worth recommending.  If it was something that I wouldn’t be able to reasonably realize results from in that time frame (link network or other SEO product) I would inform my readers about the features I actually was able to test.  Sticking with the example of a link network, things like user interface, distribution rate, whether their sites are indexed and have PR, any unique selling points like whether they provide the content, or get backlinks to the articles you submit, etc. and I would tell them that I can’t officially say whether or not the product delivers results yet, but they should stay tuned and I’ll let them know as soon as I’ve used the service for a reasonable amount of time.  I’d still promote the product as an affiliate, but I’d clarify to my readers that since it’s too early to say anything about results, they should only purchase if they’re interested in trying something new or they’re unwilling or unable to use some of the proven products or services.

If the merchant refused to give me access to the product, I would take an even more moderate approach and simply educate the readers on the pre-launch content, see if I could get an interview with the merchant, that sort of thing.  I’d work to separate the pitch from the actual features, and whether or not the product being launched is offering something that other products don’t have.  Finally, I’d just be honest.  What do I think about the product?  Who would benefit from it, and who shouldn’t waste their money?  Am I going to buy it?  Based on the pre-launch content and whether or not a guarantee is being offered, do I think they should buy it and give it a shot?

For the most part, I tend to avoid product launches.  Most of the IM stuff that comes out on Clickbank is rehashed garbage, and even though I could probably be pushing $1000 a day in sales if I covered all of it, it would be harmful to my business in the long term.  The bigger products (PLF, Mass Control, Main St. Marketing) are generally pretty good, but I’m not enough of a name in the IM scene to get early access, and I can’t in good conscience tell someone to fork over $2000 (half of which ends up in my pocket) based solely on pre-launch videos.  I keep my ear to the ground in search of quality products (expect to see an SEnuke X review, since SEnuke was the first link building tool I ever used) but for the most part, if I’m not using it or intending to use it, I won’t recommend it to my readers.

This is the only site I have in the IM niche for the moment, and I’ll be expanding it as time goes on.  In the weeks to come I’ll be releasing an updated review of Google Sniper (with a very unique bonus that all previous buyers will also receive), as well as a few more reviews (I’d like to cover some of the linking services I use as well as giving my perspective on the types of IMers that should use Market Samurai over Micro Niche Finder) and further down the line, a bit of free training to help out the broke newbies.

———————————————–

I’d really like to emphasize 2 things here.  The first is that with the exception of giving away my niches, I aim to be as transparent as possible with you guys.  If you read something on this blog, you can count it as absolute truth.  I have absolutely zero interest in misleading you guys into buying products that suck just to earn a commission.  I won’t promote anything unless I think that you guys can benefit it.  I’d rather have a small group of people who buy from me regularly because they know that I only recommend quality stuff than a flood of disgruntled customers who look at me as just another dude selling snake oil.

Second, the only reason I still promote anything inside the IM niche is because I’ve met some really cool people through this site and the Warrior Forum, and they more than make up for the fact that a good portion of the IM community is composed of sketchy ex-used car salesmen (no offense to any non-sketchy ex-used car salesmen that may be reading this :P )

I guess what I’m trying to say here is if you don’t suck as a person, I’d love to hear from you, and if you have questions that tickle my brain, I will happily email you my answers and repost them here for the whole IM world to benefit from.  Cheers guys.

Tube Toolbox Review – How To Get More Views On YouTube The White Hat Way

May 4th, 2010 admin 4 comments

Hey everyone.  I’m back again, this time to review Tube Toolbox.  It’s a cool piece of software that automates some of the less fun parts of YouTube marketing, and lets you effectively turn your YouTube account into a customer-finding, list-building monster.  You can check it out here or click here for the direct download of the free version.  Before I start the review though, let me give you some background on the recent video marketing craze and where Tube Toolbox fits in.

If you’ve been following the trends at all lately, you know that video marketing is the new “big thing”, and people are pulling in cash hand over fist by milking YouTube.  For those of you who don’t know, YouTube is the second biggest search engine next to Google, and there is practically NO competition.

Now this all sounds nice on paper, but for those of you who have actually taken the time to submit a video, I’m sure you’ve discovered the problem with video marketing.  See, YouTube uses a different ranking algorithm than Google does.  Sure, the same stuff matters.  Titles, keywords in content, and all the usual SEO stuff plays into it, but the major difference is that YouTube also factors in view count.

There are tons of programs out there that claim to increase your view count, and some of them actually even work, but the problem is that once YouTube finds out, they’ll ban your account faster than you can bat an eye.  Oh, and they happen to be very, very good at finding these things out, especially since being acquired by a little company you might have heard of by the name of Google.

Here’s the really interesting thing though…  YouTube’s TOS forbids bots, but only if they’re doing things faster than a human could do them.  If you were to use a bot that did things at the same speed as a human, it’d be perfectly kosher.

This is where Tube Toolbox comes in.  What Tube Toolbox does is actually really simple.  In it’s most basic form, Tube Toolbox spiders YouTube’s viewer profiles according to your search criteria, and then lets you do what you will with that list of gathered users.  I’m sure you see the potential here, both for white hat and black hat applications.

I use it purely for white hat purposes, so that’s what we’re going to stick with today.  Specifically, I use it to build a massive following on YouTube that hungrily gobbles up any content that I send their way, and flocks to my websites en mass whenever I tell them to.  Oh yeah, and since they’re watching my videos, I get to increase my view count, rise in the natural search rankings on YouTube, and occasionally nab myself an extra spot in the old Google listings…  Does that sound like something you might be interested in?  Thought so!

Click here to download the free version of TubeToolbox, you’ll need it if you want to follow along in the next part!

Even though this is a review, I’m gonna go ahead and give you my strategy for using Tube Toolbox.  I would hate for you guys to buy it and have no idea what to do with it, or worse yet, get your account banned.  So, here is my personal tutorial on how to use Tube Toolbox.  Keep in mind that the free version can only send a limited number of requests per day, so if you don’t have any plans to upgrade, you don’t need to gather a ton of users.

  1. Type your search term into the YouTube search box.  Start broad, and go narrower as needed. (e.g. if your niche is “how to restore classic cars” you might use “cars” to start, then when you’ve run that dry, “classic cars”, “restore classic cars” etc.)
  2. Copy and paste the names of every user on page 1 into a text file.  Repeat this for each search term relevant to your video.
  3. Copy and paste the first name into the “Gather From User” box in the sidebar and click the arrow.
  4. Select “Gather username’s Subscribers”.
  5. Uncheck “add gathered videos…” and check “Do not gather users who I have gathered before – from this account only”
  6. Set Max Pages to Gather to 25.
  7. Under User Filter Options, click Add, and in the menu that pops up, check the “User has logged in to YouTube” box to 1 month, then click OK.
  8. Click OK in the Gather Options window.  Repeat steps 3 to 8 for each username in your text list.
  9. Click “Send Friend Requests” in the sidebar.  Set the Send Delay sliders to minimum 1 min 10 seconds, maximum 2 mins 20 seconds.  Click “Add Recipients” and select the group “Gathered Users”, then click OK.
  10. Click “Start Sending”.  Leave your computer on overnight, come back to a ton of friends and subscribers as well as a bunch of views, and enjoy.

Tube Toolbox is, in my opinion, an essential piece of software if you want to build a large and responsive following on YouTube.  When you consider that you can leverage your subscribers into Twitter followers, mailing list members, facebook fans, and practically any other social media platform you can think of, the value factor is through the roof.  I’d highly suggest giving the free version a spin, and take it from there.  As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, shoot me a comment.

Micro Niche Finder Review – Best Keyword Research Tool

April 29th, 2010 admin 1 comment

OK, so you’ve got Google Sniper…  What’s next on the shopping list?  Well, the success of your sniper site lives and dies based on your keyword research.  Now you’ve got a couple of options here.  You can do it the old fashioned way with the free google keyword tool, firefox, an addon like SEOQuake, and a little bit of brains, and hope that your keyword works out for you.  It’ll take you a few mistakes, some wasted effort, and a wasted domain name or 10 to do it, but you can definitely gut it out.

Or you can skip all of that and take the easy path.

Here’s the deal.  If you’re looking for the best keyword research tool you can possibly find to give yourself an edge in building your internet empire, look no farther than Micro Niche Finder.  In my Micro Niche Finder review, I’m going to show you exactly why it beats out its competition and is the absolute best keyword research tool for Google Snipers and niche marketers.

In my experience, Micro Niche Finder beats out the competition quite handily.  When it comes to true competition, the only other tool worth discussing is Market Samurai.  While Market Samurai definitely has its strengths, and is probably the better tool for people with years of SEO experience, Micro Niche Finder is far superior at creating and expanding a list of keywords and assessing competition.

To use Market Samurai’s keyword research feature to its fullest, you need to already understand what makes a good keyword.  Understanding things like SEO title to competition ratio, the difference between AdWords value and SEO value and when they are or aren’t relevant, and the relevancy of phrase to broad ratio are all things that will make an SEO newbie curl into the fetal position and start weeping.  If your main goal is to make sniper sites or do some niche marketing, those fancy schmancy technicalities aren’t really relevant.

Micro Niche Finder, on the other hand, gives you data pulled straight from the Google keyword tool, and allows you to filter it, sort it, and adjust it as needed.  It displays everything you need to know to make your keyword decisions on one page, without worrying about adjusting filters and trying to figure out whether or not a piece of data is relevant.  After creating over 50 niche sites, I can tell you from experience that it’s easy enough to make a mistake along the way.  The more you can do to simplify the process, the better.

Now you can have all the keywords in the world, but you need to know the competition levels before you can pick out your keyword, right?  Here’s where Micro Niche Finder really shines.  In Market Samurai, the SEO competition module gives you the exact number of backlinks to page, domain, edu and gov, on-page SEO, directory listings, domain age, page rank, and much more.  Pretty awesome…  If you’re an SEO guru.  Otherwise it’s just a whole jumble of numbers.

Put it this way.  If I told you that the #1 result for your keyword had the following stats – 4 years old, a PR of 3, 7400 backlinks to the domain, 65 to the ranking page, Yahoo directory listing but no DMOZ, 4 edu / gov backlinks, keyword in title and meta but not URL, and a cache age of 8 – Could you tell me whether or not you could outrank it, and how long it would take you?  Didn’t think so.  Don’t worry, there are very few people who can read that gobbledygook and actually make sense of it.  If you’ve got the time and energy to learn the language, power to you, and enjoy Market Samurai.

If you’ve got more important things to do with your time, and you’d rather save the statistics for your accountant, Micro Niche Finder has got you covered.  You want easy?  How does clicking a few buttons and getting a straight-up yes or no to your keyword sound?  Micro Niche Finder has a handy little feature called SOC (Strength of Competition) that will give you a red, yellow, or green light on your keyword.  Once you get a green light, you know you’re good to go.

Us snipers and niche marketers have it super easy with this app, since there’s even a built in domain checker.  My keyword research process in Micro Niche Finder goes like this:

  1. Type in a seed keyword (say, electric guitars)
  2. Sort the list by search volume.
  3. Set it to work figuring out the SOC for each keyword.
  4. Choose a green keyword with an available domain and build a site around it.
  5. Grin like a madman when I hit the first page of Google in a week and make my first sale from the site in under a month.

It never gets old.  Anyway, this review is getting far too wordy, so let me leave you with this.  Keyword research used to be the part of the site creation process that I hated most.  It was nerve-wracking because I was always afraid I’d screw it up and waste time and money making a site that wouldn’t rank.  Now, since Micro Niche Finder makes it so easy to find awesome keywords and avoid making stupid mistakes, I have a huge text file with about 100 awesome sniper keywords that I don’t have sites for… yet!

If that sounds good to you, click the link below and get Micro Niche Finder, and leave me a comment if the review helped you or if you have any feedback.

Google Sniper Review

October 15th, 2009 admin No comments

Alright guys, Chris here.  I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’ve got an awesome update for you…  GOOGLE SNIPER IS LIVE! So here’s the question on everyone’s minds… Was it worth the wait?  This Google Sniper review will answer that question for you.  Just a heads up that this is not the official site for Google Sniper.  If you’re looking for the official site you can find it here.
On to the review.  Google Sniper is, in short, a complete system for creating small websites in a couple of hours that generate autopilot income for years, without being touched after creation.  What that means is that after you create the content for the site, upload it, and publish it, your work is done.  You can move on to the next site without worrying about backlinks or promotion, which is easily the most time-consuming part of internet marketing.

Big claims, but does it work?  Well, put it this way.  I quit my day job in May, and I’ve been living comfortably ever since, and all I’ve done is build a bunch of sniper sites.  George Brown makes some hefty claims with Google Sniper, but he delivers on them.  Let me give you a walk through my progression:

  • Read the ebook twice in 2 hours.
  • Got my keyword research done in 1 hour.
  • Built the site and published it in about 3 hours.
  • Was indexed within 24 hours.
  • 5 days later I hit 3rd and 5th spot for my 2 keywords.
  • 10 days in I made my first $25 commission.

That was enough for me to start building a site every week.  Now obviously your results will vary depending on your keyword research and how well you follow George’s instructions laid out in Google Sniper, but if you put in the small amount of work that George asks of you, it’s fairly difficult to NOT make money!

The best thing about this system is how easy it is.  Whether you’re new to internet marketing or a grizzled veteran, you can do this.  If all you want is to put in a couple of hours a week and make a bit of extra money, you can.  If you want to build a business out of it, well, hey, it worked for me!  If you’re tired of wasting your time online like I was, and you just want to finally make some money, Google Sniper is for you.

Google Sniper Update

August 27th, 2009 admin No comments

Hi all.  Wow, it’s been a while, but between building a virtual empire and enjoying the luxuries of being self-employed, time has just been flying by.  I’m up to 21 Google Sniper sites so far, and my income has been increasing pretty much directly in proportion to my sites’ rankings.  This is the real deal, folks, this stuff works like gangbusters.

In my last post, I mentioned that George was planning on releasing Google Sniper in August, which was based off of a hint that he dropped in another ebook I grabbed from him at the time.  It turns out the launch has been scheduled for October, so those of you who haven’t gotten your copy of the Google Sniper system don’t have THAT much longer to wait!

He’s pretty stoked on it.  From what I can tell, the finished product is going to be even better than anyone ever expected.  So far George has managed to make major waves in the internet marketing community by stomping some seriously huge SEO myths, but it looks like the October release of Google Sniper is set to unleash a  TSUNAMI on the IM world.  Stay tuned for more updates.

Google Sniper Release in August ’09

May 29th, 2009 admin No comments

Hey guys.  Just thought I’d toss a quick update out for anyone looking to get their hands on George Brown’s Google Sniper course.  I picked up his latest Warrior Special Offer, and he’s mentioned towards the end of it that he plans on launching the official version of Google Sniper in August.

I’m looking forward to seeing if he applies the same kind of unconventional wisdom and strategy-redefining techniques to his product launch as he did to his internet marketing.  I’m also looking forward to my revised copy, which I’m sure will be filled with even more awesome easily-applicable strategies than the first was!

So it’s semi-official then:  Google Sniper launches August ’09

Google Sniper – My Story

May 17th, 2009 admin 2 comments

For the past 2 months, I’ve been settling into my new found career as a Google Sniper.  I make more now in a week than I did in 6 months before, and I genuinely love what I do…  But let’s rewind a bit so I can explain how I got here.

I’ve been doing internet marketing for 3 years now.  The degree of seriousness to which I pursued it waxed and waned at various points in time, but I was always actively pursuing it at some level.  I’ve put up sites, gotten frustrated when they didn’t make money, took them down, and then repeated the cycle.  The truth of it is, I’m lazy and I have a short attention span.  I get bored way too easily to invest hundreds of hours into creating an authority site, and I get discouraged if I don’t start seeing results quickly.  After my third abandoned site in as many months, a friend of mine who had just finished building his second authority site said to me “Chris, maybe it’s time you reconsider whether or not this business is for you.”

At that point, I was having serious doubts.  On the same friend’s recommendation, I checked out Warrior Forum, the biggest internet marketing forum on the web.  I looked into the Warrior Special Offers section.  I’ll be honest, at this point I was looking for someone to hand me a neatly packaged solution to my problems.  I’m sure by the title of this site and post you can guess what I found.  George Brown’s Google Sniper was the first WSO that caught my eye, and after reading his sales letter, I decided I had to see if this kid was offering anything new.

To say I was blown away would be quite the understatement.  I’ve devoured every piece of Internet Marketing literature I could get my hands on since starting this business, and nothing has kicked my butt into gear faster than this Google Sniper stuff.  I read the book in 2 hours at work, went home, registered a domain name, and had my first Sniper site up by the end of the week.  Within a week I was top 5 on Google for my 2 main keywords, and at the 10-day mark I made my first sale.  I didn’t spend nearly as much time on keyword research for that site as I should have, so it’s only been averaging me about $200 / month.

My second site, however…  I spent about an hour on keyword research and another hour on competition analysis, and it’s been pulling $1000 / month in steadily.  It took me about 10 hours to get the site finished, all things said and done.  Since then, I’ve put up 5 more sites, each earning a minimum of $300 each month.  Go ahead and do the math on that, I’ll wait.  Suffice it to say, I’m no longer working a day job.  So that brings us back to where we started.  I’m off to do some Sniping.  Later!

- Chris
